Day 2 - London by Hop-on, Hop-off Bus

Note: Some photos are missing, due to an incompatibility between my Panasonic camera and his phone. I will add them when I return home to California.

We purchased two, one day tickets on line for our initial introduction to London.

We made a light breakfast of yogurt and fresh fruit, and some Starbucks espresso. After putting together our napsacks, we headed out to find some real coffee and then the nearest Hop-on Hop-off bus. We stopped in at the Kensington Lane Cafe. The place was hopping! One waitress was barking orders with a sugar glaze. For example, "Sir, don't stand in front of the door! There are more customers trying to come in." The place was filled with folks happily eating breakfast. We really only wanted coffee. We watched the people scene and read the menu items on the walls. This kept us well entertained until our coffees arrived. Some of the more interesting items from the wall included Lamb's liver & onions, and Spotted dick. What? I looked it up. It's a dessert.

We are having difficulty finding drip coffee. Espresso in it's various forms is everywhere. But I have yet to find a French roast, or even dark, drip coffee.

We left the cafe, and walked along the Thames river toward Westminster bridge.

We notice that more and more people were joining our walk. Soon, walking became jostling. There are many, MANY tourists here! We were trying to find the bus stop for the Hop-on, Hop off bus. This was not an easy feat! They only go to specific stops. Finally, Carl got the attention of a driver stopped in front of us, and asked where the stop was it was "Back there around the corner." We finally found one and climbed on. The upper seating was filled, so we sat below.

We hopped off in SoHo to find some lunch. Then repeated the search for a stop, and continued to sightsee until we returned to a point nearest our neighborhood.

We walked across the Vauxhall Bridge (shown above), and decided to find some dinner on our way through. Nando's provided some interesting African and Portuguese choices. London is a very international city. We rarely hear English spoken!

We had a good day, and ended it with a selfie!
